About the Project

Mountain Green is an Austrian bio-certified hemp cultivation and trading company that has built a strong reputation for quality, transparency, and community-driven innovation in the CBD industry. Through its partnership with Spectra Hemp Trading, Mountain Green developed a unique multi-level marketing platform designed to engage and empower hundreds of thousands of German- and English-speaking participants. The platform serves as the operational backbone for plant owners and product resellers, integrating critical features including KYC compliance, automated reporting, multi-currency purchasing, flexible commission payouts, internal knowledge management, ticket-based customer support, and monthly reward systems. Mountain Green engaged our team at a decisive moment in their growth journey as they sought to replace their outdated sales management system with a modern, scalable platform. The initial project scope focused on delivering an MVP to centralize sales operations for their distributed network. However, as user adoption grew rapidly, evolving requirements—from enhanced reporting to sophisticated commission handling—demanded constant reprioritization and agile adaptation. The team also faced the critical challenge of migrating sensitive data from the legacy platform without any loss or corruption, while ensuring seamless integration with their existing Canica webshop for credit redemption against product purchases. The platform was architected using React with React Query for the frontend dashboard, delivering an intuitive interface for sales representatives to manage leads, track commissions, and access resources. The backend leveraged serverless AWS Lambda functions written in JavaScript for modular execution of business logic, with MySQL providing transactional reliability for complex affiliate relationships. At the heart of the system was a sophisticated commission calculation engine capable of processing Mountain Green's intricate revenue distribution model—where 63% of every purchase is retained by the company while 37% is dynamically distributed as commissions and bonuses across multiple layers of affiliates and pools. Extensive testing ensured accuracy across edge cases and large datasets, preserving trust and transparency in payouts. The data migration pipeline cleaned, validated, and normalized legacy data through iterative testing to ensure seamless transition without disrupting operations. The MVP was delivered in just 11 weeks, establishing Mountain Green's central hub for sales and affiliate management. The platform has since processed over €11 million in transactions and distributed more than €3 million in commissions, with real-time automated payouts on every purchase and monthly bonus distributions driving sustained engagement. The system continues to scale with Mountain Green's expanding community, strengthening their position as a trusted leader in Europe's bio-certified hemp economy while providing participants with transparent, reliable returns through innovative revenue-sharing models.
