About the Project
The Challenge
With their highly anticipated HyperSmart mobile application launch just one month away, Hyperice needed to overhaul their backend system to handle the expected user demand. The challenge was creating a system that could seamlessly integrate with multiple health tracking platforms like Apple Health, Android Health, Strava, Garmin, and Whoop, while processing massive amounts of real-time physiological data from these sources to generate personalized recovery recommendations using their Hyperice device ecosystem.
Our Solution
We redesigned and rebuilt their backend architecture around their existing NestJS framework, engineering sophisticated algorithms to reconcile conflicting physiological data across multiple health platforms. Through strategic PostgreSQL optimization and Redis in-memory caching strategies, we achieved the performance needed to handle the expected user demand. We implemented an AI-powered longevity scoring system and a recovery recommendation engine tightly integrated with the notifications system.
